Phishing Alert from Air Force FCU

Air Force FCU has been alerted about an email circulating, requesting Air Force FCU members for their information to reactivate their credit cards. This is a “Phishing” scam. This false email asked for the recipient to call in their information to reactivate their account. If the recipient proceeded to call, it directed them to enter in their credit card information.

Air Force FCU wants to let members know that this is not an Air Force FCU email and you should not call in your personal information to unknown phone numbers, or enter in your information . You should be aware about these fraudulent schemes and know that they have a habit of reappearing in a same or similar fashion.

One of our top priorities at Air Force Federal Credit Union is to keep information about your accounts private and secure.

Air Force Federal Credit Union will never ask you to provide account numbers, passwords, Social Security Numbers or other private or personal information about you through e-mail or by fax.

Remember to protect yourself:

• Never access an organization's Web site from a link provided in an e-mail, but only by typing in the actual URL.
• If you suspect an e-mail may be phishing, contact the organization's customer support center immediately.
• Be very skeptical of “urgent” messages that require you to enter confidential information.
• Keep your Internet browser software up to date and use an anti-virus and anti-spam product.
• Check your online account balances and transactions regularly for any discrepancies.
