Deployment Tips
The best time to prepare for deployment is long before you
receive your orders. Once you receive your orders you may
not have time to make vital arrangements that will assure
your financial peace of mind while you are away.
Joint Owner on Account
Add a joint owner on your account.
Be certain someone who shares your financial responsibilities
will be able to access your accounts if necessary. To
add a joint owner to an existing share account, complete
and sign a new Application
for Membership-Add Joint Owner form. Both the member
and the new joint owner must sign and the joint owner
must provide a copy of their driver's license and social
security card.
Power of Attorney (POA)
Have a Power of Attorney on
file at the credit union. A Power of Attorney is a legal
designation where you grant someone other than the account
owner or joint owner the authority to conduct business
on your account in your absence. POA forms are provided
through your JAG officer or attorney. Be sure the seal
on the POA copy you provide the credit union is legible.
Direct Deposit/Payroll Deduction
Sign up for Direct
Deposit. Direct Deposit automatically deposits your
paycheck into the account of your choice. Payroll deduction
lets you designate part of your pay to go to another account
or to pay a bill. Air Force FCU allows direct deposit
and payroll deduction into your accounts. If you set up
direct deposit to your checking account, you'll be able
to arrange automatic payments on your AFFCU loans without
having to write a check.
CyberMAT On-line Financial
Services
Sign up for CyberMAT.
It's free and just a click away. Access your account anywhere
you have internet access to check your account balances,
transfer money between qualifying share and loan accounts
or request a withdrawal by check. You can even download
your account information to financial management software
programs like Quicken® or Microsoft® Money.
Bill Payment
Once your account is set up
for CyberMAT access, sign up for Free
Bill Pay. Pay your bills quickly and easily online.
No envelopes or stamps. Bill Payment gives you the flexibility
to schedule payments to your U.S. merchants in advance
or as reoccurrences. You can also set up automatic transfers
with many merchants, such as your utility providers. This
way, funds are automatically deducted from your accounts
when the payment is due.
Wire Transfers
Familiarize yourself
with Wire Transfer Procedures. You may be in a remote
location and need to quickly send money to another part
of the world. We will be here to help you. Check out the
procedures for wiring funds.
Address Changes
Be sure to let us know of any
address changes. There are several easy ways to notify
us. You can use our Secure
Online Change of Address Form. Or, if you prefer,
you can print, complete and sign the Address
Change Form. Then, you can mail it, fax it or bring
it to the credit union.
Redi-Credit Loan
Set up a line of credit with
Redi-Credit. Even if you do not wish to take a loan advance
now, signing the initial loan application and credit agreement
can save time on future loans. Redi-Credit is an open-ended
loan that allows the borrower to take multiple loan advances
based on a single loan
application and credit agreement.
Visa Debit Card
Get a Visa Debit Card. With
the free, no annual fee Debit Card, you can make purchases
directly from your share draft checking account anywhere
that displays the VISA logo. It can also be used at over
500,000 ATMs worldwide to access your share savings and
share draft checking accounts. The Debit Card replaces
your ATM card. AFFCU charges no ATM fees when your card
is used at any AFFCU-owned ATM. When your card is used
at an ATM not owned by AFFCU, we waive our fees on the
first three transactions per month. Please be aware that
the owner of that ATM may charge you a fee.
Visa Credit Card
Apply for a Visa
Credit Card. Having our low interest, no annual fee,
no cash advance fee credit card in your pocket will give
you peace of mind that you will have emergency cash if
needed.
